Armagh Announces Strategic Partnership With Niagara e-Waste

Niagara e-Waste To Provide Electronics Recycling To Armagh And Their Customers

Armagh POS is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Niagara E-Waste Inc., a local recycler of electronics and electronic components servicing the Golden Horseshoe Region in Ontario Canada.

As part of the partnership Armagh will recycle their used and broken electronics with Niagara e-Waste, rather than disposing of them in general landfill. In addition, Armagh will offer to accept and collect used and broken point-of-sale systems, cash registers, scales, and other electronics on behalf of their customers to be sent to Niagara e-Waste for recycling.

Armagh technicians will offer to collect used or broken electronics for clients during onsite service calls, and customers may drop off used or broken electronics during regular business hours to Armagh at 180 Dundurn Street South, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Armagh is proud to take positive environmental action and offer this added value service to their clients, which should offer peace of mind to those environmentally conscious customers who are concerned about the vast amount of toxic electronic devices being dumped into general municipal landfills.

Armagh President, Harry Mitchell, recently commented on the announcement, “We’ve seen the cost of electronics drop exponentially over the past 15 years while the cost of labour has risen. The result of this is a hyper-consumerism of everything electronic, and an electronic equipment life-cycle that is substantially shortened. Because electronics have become so inexpensive to replace, they cannot justify the cost of labour to repair them, so, they just throw them out and buy new ones.”

Harry Mitchell, is no stranger to the electronics industry, being in the electronic cash register and point-of-sale business for over 45 years. “Lately, we’ve seen customers with perfectly good electronics, stuff that still works perfectly, throw them out for something newer and faster. The used electronics don’t have any resale value because people don’t want the old version of the technology. We’ve realized that it’s extremely important for us to be conscious of the impact this “disposable” electronics phenomenon is having on the environment, so we have taken these steps to do our part and to help guide our customers to do the right thing, and recycle their used and broken electronics.”

Niagara e-Waste’s Ryan Dear, commented on the announcement today, saying that he thought it was a positive move. “These sorts of industry partnerships are exactly what we need to increase the rate of e-Waste redirection from landfills. Environmentally conscious companies like Armagh will help get the word out and raise the awareness of both businesses and individuals alike, and that goes a long way to making recycling programs like ours successful.”
